What are you doing for Mardi Gras?
7:59am - My first stop of the day was Doughnut Dolly in SF's Twitter building lobby. Today is Paczki Day, devoted to the rich Polish donuts filled with jam or cream. Owner Hannah Hoffman verified that her yeast dough includes eggs and butter of the traditional recipe but no lard. I bought a box for later, and indulged in an immediate special one, lemon glazed and filled with half naughty cream and half raspberry jam.
Over the weekend, DD's Berkeley location closed. Besides San Francisco, the Oakland shop is still open.
