What happened to Szechwan best in Alhambra?

Chowpatty | Nov 19, 2008 03:49 PM

We wanted to go to Szechwan Best last night (before the huge fire shut down that area!), and found it closed down -- there was a sign for some kind of new sandwich shop opening up, but not sure if it was the exact same location.
With Green Village, Lucky Dragon and Macau Street closed down, I barely know where to go anymore for Chinese dinners, although there's plenty of dim sum places.
Any suggestions for Chinese restaurants that are
1) not just small dumpling places but have a larger dinner menu.
2) preferably have some spicy dishes
3) are not huge, expensive, brightly lit banquet halls?
I know Chang's Garden in Arcadia is getting a lot of love but I would prefer to stay in Alhambra/Monterey Park/San Gabriel.
