Went by a while ago to one of my two favorite Sichuan restaurants, Oriental Pearl, on Main in Alhambra, and found it was gone. There was a new Sichuan place there, decent, but nowhere close to OP.
Did it just shut down?

Chung King is still around, but they were very different places in my book. Chung King was the careful brilliant inventive mad chef, and OP was the simple-gloriously-fresh-and-zippy homey Sichuan chow.
