I went to the Morrell Restaurant on Broadway a few times on their no corkage Mondays. The food was okay, though a tad pricey, but being able to bring my wine in without paying their overzealous wine mark-ups and also not pay corkage made it worth overpaying for their okay food. I went last night, with a bottle of 1990 Ducru Beaucaillou in hand, and found the place lights out. What happened? When did they close?
I guess I should have seen it coming since the times I went there I went without reservations, and I never had a problem getting a table in their half-filled dining room.
Anyway, I went to Union Square Cafe instead, paid the corkage, and drank the 1990 Ducru with a steak.
