Hapisgah in Queens

cappucino | Feb 17, 201405:21 AM

Enjoyed a very good meal there last evening. Baby chicken shish kabob was excellent, moist, very nice portion. Yellow rice and green beans also delicious. Others had chicken and grilled vegie appetizer (very nice sized portion for an app), grilled chicken. We ordered a grilled vegie app for the table which was yummy and plentiful. Everything was very fresh. The place was hopping and service was polite, but couldn't be that attentive due to the crowd. Many, many, many people were waiting for tables by around 7:30. This was a Sunday. We made reservations (important to do so). The entire bar area was filled with people waiting for a table and ordering drinks. In general, it was a family atmosphere. Pita and chummus were good and also plentiful. They don't skimp at this place on anything. Dessert was just okay. Parking is an issue, but they do valet park you if you want that option. It's a bit of a scary thought to do that given the crowded parking lot and busy parking attendants. We opted to park and walk a few blocks. All in all, very good experience. Prices were reasonable. 17 or 18 for the chicken mains and 8 or 9 for the apps. Oh, one of us ordered the sushi and was happy with that as well. And it looked good.
