I had my car serviced at the Yonkers Kia this am which left me and my wife some time to roam around the strip mall at 1789 Central Park Ave / Highridge Plaza. We've lived in Bronxville for a bit over 6 months now and have generally felt super-underwhelmed by the food here in Westchester. Very very pleasantly surprised to have found Hapag Filipino cuisine, which seems to have opened in December and was a solid choice. I'm no expert in Filipino food, but this certainly felt more authentic and flavorful than the lackluster stabs at Indian, Thai, and Chinese in the immediate surroundings. We also explored the nearby H Mart supermarket which had a fantastic selection of asian groceries and fresh meat and vegetables, and an intriguingly large food court area with Bulgogi etc. that we want to return to. And a Halal Guys in the same strip mall to boot. We moved from Brooklyn, but this feels like a little strip of LA food culture in the sort-of neighborhood and I'm absolutely thrilled.
