Handmade Burgers in Ivoryton, CT

OK - - so I get dragged to the Ivoryton Pub across from the playhouse in Ivoryton by my husband. He and his boss have been raving about the burgers at this former biker bar no-stop.

I go - the burgers are indeed handmade, big beefy moist burgers and available in a number of ways. I have also sampled their Reuben sandwich - very good as well -

Not crazy about their onion rings -- - the fries are ok - the cole slaw and pickles were cold , fresh and tasty.

Been there twice now - they always have beer on tap specials for a couple of bucks a glass.

The place is small and the bar is center stage - but don't let that put you off

The waitresses are really nice - they have a pool table and large screen plasma tv hanging over on the other side of the bar from the tables

Both times I was there was a mixed crowd - - ran into people I actually knew there!

Worth a stop if you love big juicy beefy burgers , a local joint and some nice people....not big on desserts though ... so don't go there with a sweet tooth - -

I saw they had a sign for patio open out back - but since I am not a smoker - did not want to chance it!

They brew a good cup of java too. At least after a couple of beers it always tastes good to me ! (8->
