Hamasuku ... the good the bad and the ugly ...

PaulF | Aug 23, 200506:15 PM

Hamasuku is the sushi place owned or at least partly owned or at least was once owned or partly owned by Michael Ovitz. Lots of movie industry types eat there.

The Good: The food. The sushi was excellent, very fresh and tasty. We had some simple things like fatty tuna (is that toro?), yellow tail and salmon. Mmmm ... tasty. Then we had a bunch of fancier roll type things and everyone one of them was good. Some were cooked with different sauces -- both savory and sweet. All were presented with a nice visual flair.

The Bad: The bad part is, my friend took me to lunch and ordered everything so I have no idea what I ate or what to recommend. On the other hand, he paid, so maybe this should be under the good.

The Ugly: My '91 Camry parked next to all those Mercedes Benz' and Lexus'.

Good lunch, I'm going back to find out what I ate. (By the way, many of the dishes are named for movie stars. If there is a Jennifer Alba Roll, I'm getting it for sure ...)
