Halal carts--all the same?

Guy | Oct 3, 200301:33 AM

I'm in the city 2 to 3 times a month (midtown, 27th-32nd St, 6th to 9th Ave), and am always enticed by the aroma given off by the various "halal" vendors. I've tried one and it was OK but nothing great. They all look the same, are they all part of the same franchise or all use the same suppliers? How about the food, is there a range of quality? If so, how do you identify the good ones?

Finally, what is recommended to order from one?

TIA!
