Hal burger part II

el | May 8, 2006 04:04 PM

i tried Hal Burgers on the weekend, Adelaide and Duncan. Terrific. Had the 5 oz beef burger (also comes in 8 oz). Often smaller burgers are dry, not this one. Perfect very fresh crisp lettuce, a nice round of tomato, some nice very thin sliced red onion, on a non generic, tastey bun. Nice homemade condiments. Topped with some aged provalone (many cheeses to choose from including stilton and brie). Great friendly service, yummy very thin fries. A supurb burger experience. Am looking forward to going back to try some of there other interesting burgs.

Save room for dessert. Warm butter tart with Kawartha dairy icecream. The chocolate cake looked amazing too,

Its a tad more than a fast food joint, around $10-$12 including fries, slaw or salad, but the service and the atmosphere where stellar. Keeping it all in perspective, it is a hamburger, but a good hamburger can be as satifying as fine dining when what you want is a good burger and this is one fine burger.
