Hacienda de Vega Escondido

beth1 | Apr 13, 200808:45 PM     8

My husband and I just tried Hacienda de Vega for the first time on Friday night. We loved it. It's like going to a catered dinner party in someone's home. The food was excellent, our server was great, and the band was nice (not too loud, not mariachi). It's a good "date place"--you can't expect to be in and out in an hour. All the tables are outdoors. There's a huge waterfall in the center of the dining area. There were no small children, although there is a children's menu. I got the mahi mahi, and it was the best fish I've had since moving here. Even the white rice was flavorful. My husband got a traditional Mexican dish, and said it was excellent. If you make the trek to Escondido, please give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
