Fond memories of Czehoski (review elsewhere in this board) brought us back last week on a busier Friday night when we were rudely made to wait for a long time at the front by the hostess (even though there wasn't anyone ahead of us) and then seated upstairs and told there was a full menu when there in fact wasn't. There was a very frosty attitude that wasn't there at all the first time.
So we skipped over to Habitat where the atmosphere isn't so exactly polished but it was certainly nice surroundings. Rib appetizer was about 6-7 ribs in a thick tangy, citrus sauce that was just a shade too sweet. Meat was of nice quality and was cooked nicely.
The menu veers towards a little more Asian dishes. I had the beef/steak saigon that was quite good and done to order, but bewilderingly garnished with fresh fruit- watermelon, dragon fruit, etc. Nice as an after-dinner palette cleanser but not really for going with the entree.
Overall Habitat was a pleasant meal, but not sure if I would return for dinner. Given it's price it simply doesn't offer anything particularly exciting and other restaurants have better service and/or more interesting cuisine.
