I was just wondering how many of you have a 'guilty pleasure' type of place you like to go to in the northwest. I live in Tacoma and sometimes it's hard to find that type of place, but I have found it in Burger Express! Great burgers that are only put together after you order with french fries cooked so recently you will burn your tongue if you try to eat them right away. Also, their shakes are made with real ice cream and real fruit. In fact once I got a piece of strawberry stuck in my straw. They have a pretty big selection of burgers. My personal favorite when I want to have a gallbladder attack is the California burger that comes with avocado, cheese and bacon! Their bison burger is also very good. They have a small children's menu that usually has something my two-and-a-half-year-old will eat.
It's on Bridgeport in University Place, just south of the Green Firs shopping area.

Another place my family likes to go to is World Market and Deli on the corner of 19th and Bridgeport. It's a small marketplace that also makes meals for there or to go. We usually get pretty good gyros there, the pitas are always nice and warm and don't taste stale. I don't have a lot of experience with either Middle Eastern or Greek food, but this stuff tastes pretty good. They also make a pretty good roasted chicken meal that comes with rice, salad, hummus and pita. I usually have to share it because I can't finish it by myself. It's always fun to buy some items there that you aren't sure what they are, just for the discovery aspect. It's how we found out what Turkish Delight is.
