The other night some friends took me to have some of the best empanadas I've ever had at "La Madrina de Roberto Angelelli." I believe it was on Garcia Avilez off of Avenida 9 de Octubre (but someone please correct me if I'm wrong). There was a big line waiting for the piping hot empanadas, but it moved quickly. I only tried the cheese ones, which were served with a sprinkling of sugar (I think my hosts put the sugar on for me) - there are also ones with chicken and meat. The crust was perfectly crisp - not soggy or overly greasy - and the cheese gooey. I tried a tiny bit of the salsa de ahi on the counter, which was flavorful and just spicy enough for me, but I preferred it with only the sugar to complement the salty cheese.
