On Thursday I ate a a Guatemalan place on Jamaica Ave + 115 St under the El. This used to be a local coffee shop but as the neighbborhood changed so have many of the eating places. I was the only Gringo/Anglo in it. The menu is simple and straightforward. I had a skirtsteak (thin long slices) in an orange tangy sauce. It came w/heaping portions of really good macaroni salad!, mushed black beans, lightly yellow rice(not the bright orange color of the Caribbean joints)that is what they must mean by the note that says all meals are served Guatemalan style!

I also had a big pork Tamale this had a little bit of mild red sauce on it. The tamale was rectangular shaped+ cut open on the top revealing the meat.

An ok place, since I work in the area I'd go back and give it another shot. I dont know if it's "worth a detour" though.
