we started off dinner at nuevo leon last sunday with an order of guacamole. it had a very mild flavor--there was no onion, garlic, or jalapeno that one often finds in a guacamole. it had an extremely smooth and dense texture and what i can only describe as an "artificial" flavor that had us wondering if there was something else in it besides avocado such as, gulp, crisco or other emulsifying ingredient.
i figured if anyone could answer this question, it's the chowhounds. any thoughts?
