Ontario (inc. Toronto) Farmers' Market Locally Sourced

Hi Toronto food friends - As I'm not able to support local farmers and producers at the market right now, does anyone have a good CSA recommendation? I know farmers won't really have much in terms of produce right now anyway would love to keep buying and eating local as much as possible. <3

We had used Fresh City Farms for years, up until 1 year ago. They have their own farm at Downsview Park and most of their pantry items are locally produced/made. I just checked their website - they are not accepting new accounts at this point. I would recommend get on their waitlist.

I signed my parents up for a subscription over the weekend so it seems they're taking on new customers.

Wheelbarrow Farm CSA returns to The Dep with new MON & WED fresh veggie pickups!
As some of you may already know, The Depanneur is a pick up spot for Wheelbarrow Farm’s CSA vegetable baskets. Due to high demand this season, they've added a 2nd bi-weekly pickup and there are some additional spots available, but they're going fast!

Pick up your pre-packed basket (contactless) outside of The Depanneur every other Monday or Wednesday (select your day in advance), between 3-7pm. There will also be optional add-ons for CSA members' baskets with the CSA+ program, such as extra veggies, flowers, coffee, tofu, preserves, cheese, mushrooms and more.

Limited shares available! Don't wait, sign up today to grab your spot — season starts mid-May! Full details and easy online sign up HERE — use referral code THE DEP when signing up![Oops the link didn't copy it's

Reviving this thread for 2021. I'm looking at options for a vegetable CSA. Did a quick survey and found about 15 farms that offer CSA / Farm Shares, with either Toronto pickup or delivery. However, it's hard to make heads or tails, as they all have differing prices, delivery fees, program lengths and items per box.

The top contenders so far seem to be Wheelbarrow Farm, Black Creek Community Farm, Round the Bend Farm and Zephyr Organics. However, interested in hearing other suggestions, and if anyone has any experience with "Zawadi Farm", which seems to be a collective of backyard growers in Toronto (their website wasn't very clear).

                Ideally, the share should be:

                20+ weeks
10-12 items per box (half share?)
                ~$500 including home delivery

Anyone have any experience with CSA in the GTA?

The information was sparse for Nith Valley, and their website appears to have been hijacked as it redirects to an online pharmacy. Hopefully they can fix that!
