So, my dad is now back in chicago, going into subacute rehab at a nursing home near Dempster in Des Plaines.
Any recommendations for food? Today we ended up cruising golf rd, going east. We ended up going into a korean bbq place named "Go Ba Woo", which was pretty good. It was empty when we got in, but became packed with koreans exclusively shortly thereafter. The main dining room does not have burners, but there are 6 or more "private" rooms off them, which do. The TV was showing a korean gameshow the entire time. We had bulgogi, a marinated bbq chicken thing, and a fried clear noodle dish (which I didn't try). Lots of good condiments, too, many of which I also didn't try. I'm something of a wuss, you see.
anyway, it was good, especially the marinated bbq chicken pieces. my mom didn't like the fried clear noodles much at first, but really got into them. the bulgogi wasn't nearly as good as cho sun ok's, and only half of it ended up being eaten. Still, an altogether positive experience.
So anyway, any recommendations for good dinners in the des plaines area? Speed is generally appreciated since we want to get back to my dad, but anything good is welcome.
