Grove and Tango Gelato on Fillmore

jaweino | Apr 29, 200201:21 AM     1

We tried the two new kids on the block this weekend.
Saturday, we went into Grove for lunch. I must admit I really miss the fresh roast turkey sandwiches from Chestnut. The turkey sandwiches at grove did not look nearly as good and were significantly more expensive. The blackboard menu looked appealing, with an interesting variety of sandwiches, salads, and entrees. Un fortunately the noise level was so unpleasantly loud, that we left without ordering. In the future we might consider it for takeout.

Today we tried Tango Gelato, and were generally pleased. The Cocoanut was the most intensely flavorful, that I've had. It was better than all the many cocoanuts at Mitchell's of which I have been a devoted fan. The Almond _____? was also quite good, lots of slivered almonds in a rich fresh cream base. The Chocolate Rum Raisin was a bit of a dissapointment. There were plenty of raisins, but the chocolate and the rum were too subdued.
