Help again for a group of teenagers; Vista or Oceanside this time

maestra | Jan 10, 201709:27 AM

Hello again, SD hounds.
Your recommendations for my last post about where to take 20-40 high-school students for less than $12 each (including tax and tip) were excellent. We're headed out again soon, this time to Oceanside. We come from Ramona, and we've already done a lot in Escondido, so I'm looking for recs for Vista or Oceanside.
My first thought was food of the Pacific Islands or the Caribbean. . I checked with Guahan Grill, which the students would love, but they are too small and would have to close down the restaurant for us (and thus charge $27 each). Oloa Samoa sounds expensive. I looked at the two Jamaican restaurants, but reviews describe them as being so slow with service that I thought it might be challenging to work with them.
My next thought was Filipino food, and Mission Asian Market popped up. I planned to go check it out, but the Yelp thread reports it as closed.
If nothing else pans out, I'll check with Ali Baba in Escondido. They are very good, and quite different from other "Mediterranean" restaurants. I've only been twice and haven't gotten to chat with the staff yet to learn more about the exact origin of the more unique menu items.
Any ideas?
