Read about this place that replaced Cafe Istanbul on the Globe. The $40 3-course pasta tasting with 3 full glasses of matching wines is a truly remarkable deal. Stylistically similar to The Vault, but at Pomodoro prices. I wouldn't be surprised if these bargain prices won't last once this place becomes publicized and popularized.

I'll let the dishes speak for themselves. Beautiful combinations:

lobster ricotta ravioli with beets, beet sauce and lobster cream sauce paired with a crisp, slightly oaky Napa Chardonnay that had a nice hint of a toffee finish, perfect for the lobster (sorry, forgot vineyard/winery)

wild striped bass with little pasta cut-outs, perfectly braised bacon (!!!!), asparagus tips, dark glaze of some sort. Paired with a soft, balanced italian red that I can't remember.

foie gras, mission figs, excellent potato gnnochi, pesto sauce paired with a dusky, ripe CA merlot (again, forgot winery), tanins against smokey richness.

Separate dessert - competently made warm chocolate cake pleasantly enhanced by strawberries and mascarpone ice cream
