Grotta Azzurra-Moorpark

Yes folks-we have really good food in the Simi Valley area. GROTTA has always been good but now it's way better. About three years ago the the owner retired and sold out to his chef of 17 years who has managed to redo both the menu and the deor. I am not a great writer folks so let me say this. GROTTA is just seriously good Italian food, certainly the best Italian food in the area. Forget PAUL's. This place rules in comparison. I have not been unhappy yet.

Recently I have ordered the meat ravioli with meat sauce, breaded zucchini that was a very large portion, perfectly fried with zero oil left on the napkin, terrific pizza and the best rolls ever. I save my weekly carb allowance just to eat these rolls. BTW the zucchini reheated in my oven at home the next day just as good as it was served in the restaurant. I love the fact that the owners daughter works the front and overseas everything. I like family owned places, especially if the food is great as it is here. Be aware that the menu on the website does not list everything they serve. Give Grotta a chance, you will be very surprised.
