What are you discovering at Grocery Outlet stores this month?
Passing through Marin County yesterday I noticed the banner on the side of a building in the strip mall in San Rafael across from the post office where Ross Dress for Less is located that says it will be a future Grocery Outlet. The address would seem to be 141 Bellam Blvd, where google shows a grocery store called More for Less currently.
Normally I stay out of grocery stores at the beginning of the month from the 1st to the 10th. Nutrition benefits in CalFresh (fka food stamps) and WIC are allocated during this period and the growing number of people who do their main grocery shopping on those days should have first crack at merchandise without me in their way. But I did stop at the Novato store on my way north, as it has very wide aisles and never seems crowded. Yesterday afternoon it was a comfortable shopping experience again with few people inside. Never saw more than one other person on each aisle and usually no one else. A dispenser of hand sanitizer is at the entrance for customer use.
