why insert "The original comment has been removed"?

just yank it down the memory hole and make it gone. it only invites questions that won't be answered, and I would expect produces annoying questions on the plate of any mods otherwise sunshine-y day. if the comment crosses a line, inform the poster, but usually it's mindless and who cares if the poster gets miffed - so why attract attention to an act that has become SOP and unquestioned? you were doing fine.
