Does no one like Grillfish? Cuz it never gets mentioned as a suggestion for seafood dining, I forget about it too but it was quite good. Esp. with the coupon I had from the Phoenix for buy one meal, get one free on Sun.-Wed. til 6/15. It got fairly busy early on a Sun. I think that space is cool, kind of industrial looking but it gets loud cuz of the hard surfaces. Anyway, we started with some yummy mussels in garlic and white wine for $5.95. Not a mountain of them but a good size for the price and the broth was so good. The non descript bread was perfect for soaking it up. I had a pecan crusted grouper w/ an orange sauce that came w/ potato & carrots plus a side salad. My friend got grilled red snapper with the veggie side and pasta (he could have gotten corn on the cob instead of carrots and salad instead of pasta). Both were $15.95 which was pretty much the highest price on the menu except for a couple that were a dollar more and whatever the lobster price was that day. Service was slightly spacy but fine and the meal was really good. I want to go back to get a more simple, healthier grilled fish dish. And I can by signing up for their frequent diner card at grillfish.com. I saw a party of four with their card with them and I think you are also able to get this 2 for 1 deal if you're a frequent diner member. Forgot to mention, you could get a 1/2 price bottle of wine but we just had water. A good deal all around.
Also in case you didn't see it, Stuff@Nite had an ad for the 57 having some free appetizers on Tues-Fri. until 7/10 if you're a party of at least 2 ordering drinks. The Sat. Globe said Bomboa is having a 50% discount on its wines every Mon. of the summer starting 6/23 and blu is having a tasting every Tues. of summer wines w/ hors d'oeuvres for $19 in advance and $29 at the door. Lastly, got this from Pigalle: Greetings from Pigalle,
If you are staying in town over the 4th of July weekend, please join us for dinner! In addition to our regular menu, we will be serving a three course American Prix Fixe menu ($35.00) all weekend to celebrate the holiday. Weather permitting (ugh!), the patio will be open for a true Parisian experience.
