Grilled Cheese or as some say "Grill Cheese" is a simple common dish.
However, all too often, the bread isn't cooked properly, or the cheese is barely melted or something else lacks. Even most diners, where you would expect with all their practice, can't seem to get it right.
Well , without any fancy stuff, like different types of cheeses, or adding truffles etc, Telepan Local in Tribeca has a very well made simple Grilled Cheddar with tomato. It is one of the best things on their menu. It also helps fill you up since the other dishes there are pretty small. The food in general at TL is very good, and since they went on Open Table, they are packed every night. The bar is quite comfortable to enjoy their tapas-like dishes. The Grilled Cheese is highly recommended by me.
Any other real good Grilled Cheese around?
EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to search the thread,,, I don't want to get smacked by Kathryn :)
