Gregoire December Lunches - Pork Patty, Roast Beef

Morton the Mousse | Dec 7, 200503:00 PM

Gregoire has some outstanding sandwiches on the lunch menu this month. They'll be closed December 21st-31st so if something sounds good you should go get it now.

Pork patty with bacon and Swiss cheese is as heart stoppingly wonderful as the name implies. The grilled pork patty has a really clean flavor to it, like a good sausage, and you can tell that it is made in house. The bacon and cheese go nicely with the patty. Lettuce and tomatoes give it a crisp, fresh feel and the house made mustard adds a nice kick. This is a great sandwich.

Roasted beef with hazelnut and Raclette in grilled lavash is delicious. Gregoire serves some of the best roast beef in town. He makes the roast in house and the meat has an incredible depth of flavor that you wont fine in prefabbed roast beef. The creamy Raclette and crunchy, sweet hazelnuts round out the flavors and textures nicely. I still think the roast beef with creamy horseradish is his best roast beef, but this is a close second.

Leg of lamb with a spicy bell pepper stew is my favorite leg of lamb sandwich. Gregoire's lamb always has a fabulous flavor because he uses such high quality meat, but the spicy peppers make this sandwich come alive.

Pistachio mousse with Ameretto biscuit is my kind of dessert. Not too sweet with subtle but complex flavors and a dreamy texture. It's hard for me to walk by Gregoire without picking up a mousse to go.

Some of the dinner options really caught my eye and I can't wait to try them. A friend has been raving about the braised beef ribs and the Poached 1-pound Maine lobster for $24 looks intruiging. I'll have to drop by for dinner this weekend before it's too late.
