Went to Greens last night after the big ZAP Zinfandel tasting event (thought it would provide a good opportunity to "recover" before the drive home). Five or six years ago, we lived in the Midwest and always went to Greens for dinner when visiting San Francisco because it was so good. I'm sorry to say it was very disappointing this time. On Saturday, they only serve a three course, fixed price menu ($46.00). I had a salad assortment to start followed by ravioli with a gorgonzola sauce. Both were just OK. Desert was a sort of bread pudding. Good but not great. There were three of us, and no one was very impressed. Everyone commented on the blandness of the cooking. The check for three came to $180 with tax and tip (no wine or other beverages). For that price, you can do a lot better. Sorry to say that at this point in its life Greens is just a pretty average (or below) restaurant with great views.
