Yesterday we peeked into the new construction at the corner of Lorimer and Bedford and spoke to the owner. They are nearly done with the construction of the place -- which looks wildly similar to other new restos which we have termed "apothecary-style" -- as in, it looks like Diner, Blackbird Parlor, Huckleberry Bar, etc. Anyway, they plan to serve bistro-style food with cooks from Diner. I'm looking forward to avoiding the hike to the 'burg for roast chicken and the like, but most importantly, they plan to serve coffee and pastries starting early in the morning from a walk-up window on Bedford. Woo hoo! They plan to open within the month. Fingers crossed!
