Greek (Lamb) in Escondido

Thursday evening after work and my wife and me are too tired to cook today so we decided to find a restaurant for dinner. As we do from time to time we look through our Entertainment book and decided to drive to Escondido to test "Chicken Plus Greek Cuisine". It turns out to be a small restaurant with about ten tables inside and 3-4 table outside. We chose feta cheese and olives with fresh pita bread as appetizer and lamb shank and lamb souflaki as entrees. The feta was very good in taste and texture with good olives and good pita bread. But that was nothing compared to our both lamb dishes. The souflaki was excellent with a very good salad (with a lot of the good feta), rice and tsatziki (though they could add more garlic to it). The lamb shank was amazing. The meat was melting in my mouth and had a wonderful taste, again with salad and rice. Overall very good quality for a very good price (both entrees are less than $10).
We came back one week later and had to choose the same entrees but picked hummus with pita bread as the appetizer and again everything was at least as good as the first time. There are of course other dishes on the menu (a few more greek entrees (Gyros, Mousaka, Pastitsio) and obviously many chicken dishes (they have a large rotisserie in the front of the restaurant) but it is very unlikely that we will try them in the near future with the option of having these great lamb dishes.
So if you are around Escondido and have some cravings for lamb we can highly recommend this restaurant:
