Having noticed new tables with umbrellas unfurled -- and the disappearance of construction tools, we assumed Niko's was open a week or so ago and decided to try it out Saturday. There was a crowd when we arrived, but the staff greeted us by saying they were not yet OFFICIALLY open but were serving a selection of foods free and just charging for drinks!! So, of course, we stayed. Everyone was served the same selection of foods: hummus, salad with stuffed grape leaves, a meat kebab, beans, a gyro, a selection of desserts. It was hard to judge what a regular experience there would be like, given the unusual circumstances, but the food was tasty, the prices moderate, and the staff very pleasant if a little confused by the situation. The interior has been nicely remodeled but has the likelihood of being a bit noisy (lot of hard surfaces.) The menu contains some standard Greek dishes, tho nothing unusual. We're certainly planning to try them again.
