Grecian Festival, Arlington: Pig!!

aromatherapy | Jun 7, 2003 04:00 PM

Stopped in for a late lunch. Spit-roasted pig plate, $15, includes large, juicy, delicious chunks of bone-in pork with a nice piece of skin; rice pilaf with a dollop of tomato sauce (good); and a forgettable salad with feta. Various usual dishes available a la carte, but the plate was enough for me. Tried a dessert, louke-something? fried dough puffs in syrup with walnuts--to my uninformed taste, pretty decent. They also have skewered grilled meats and a roast chicken plate that looked like a good deal. Beer and wine available; takeout option. I asked how long the spit-roasted meat would hold out, was told it should go "through supper." When I left 3 young pigs were turning golden over the charcoal fire, joined by a good-sized young sheep. At the Greek church on Mass. Ave. just north of Arlington Center. Must sleep now...
