Tonight I had something that cannot be topped. I picked a tomato from my garden. It was warm and red. I sliced it, sprinkled a little sea salt and a twist of pepper on it. Just a drop of extra virgin olive oil.
no chef can do anything to make a better dish. just like all of us here I love going out to see what talented people can create. Nothing beats a great meal, done by a great cook.
However, the point of my post is that the earth gives us the marvelous bounty. We should all pause to enjoy those tastes that we have at our doors for a short time. In February, i would be begging for a cooked meal when only snow and gloom knock at our doors.
But for the next few weeks eat a tomato, find some good sweet corn, have a cantolope, revel n a warm juicy dripping peach. I live in lancaster co. so the bounty is at my door, but even those in the city can find these joyous pleasures now. enjoy it while it lasts
