Great weekend dinner # 2 – Alto Palato

This is a beautiful restaurant – the bar area is simply stunning, I cannot think of a nicer place for an intimate cocktail. Walking past the bar area one is greeted with the highest ceilings imaginable, the main dining room is drop dead gorgeous and is aging well. The first thing you will notice is the table spacing – there is table spacing, lots of room between tables and a very low noise level. Sunday was a warm beautiful night so I opted for outside. Again, a beautiful space, very few tables, like 6-8 I think.

I was in the mood for thin crust pizza, which is the reason I chose this place. You like thick crust, do not order any of the pizzas.

Patate, Cipolle e Guanciale $10.95
Potato, caramelized onion and our own cured bacon

Ravioli di Zucca con Burro e Salvia $14.95
Ravioli filled with pumpkin and ricotta in sage butter

And one of the dinner specials, baby back pork ribs with cannelli beans $ 22.00

What can I say, everything was perfect, the pizza was certainly enough to split and the two mains were delish.

I had a simple Italian off the list, around $ 32 – service was great, owner came by to chat.

I cannot imagine anyone having a bad time at this place. It has to be the perfect first date restaurant, intimate, quite – even full, attentive service, nice wine list.
