Great Vietnamese in the Detroit area

Although the local mainstay for Viet in the area has
been the Mini (on University in Windsor, Ontario...okay
- from the tunnel, go left on Park, do an immediate
right on Oulette, then a left on University. Go up
about a mile and look for the small blue sign on the
left. Incredible), I gotta tell you about Thang Loong,
which is on John R, south of 12 mile rd. on the west
side of the street. This place is cheap, amazingly good
and even more authentic (if there can be such a
thing...all such places will tell you that THEIRS is
"authentic" and xyz's is not)than the Mini. Both are
cheap as all get out(although you do get the US dollar
to Canuck currency deal at the Mini)and offer a
veritable cornucopia of taste bud dazzlers. Thang Loong
offers a smattering of Thai dishes - that being the
trend - but they're all done with a Vietnamese twist.
