Great little, rather unknown sushi restaurant in SF

So, I've been going to a little, rather unknown sushi restaurant on Geary between 14th and 15th called Ariake. The sushi there is incredibly fresh and quite flavorful (as opposed to some sushi I've had which is fresh, but everything tastes the same.... anyone else had this experience?) The sushi is served at the proper temperature IMHO. Anyways, the pieces are quite large and the quality is exceptional. The chef, Jin, is of previous Ebisu fame and went to start his own place. IN any case, I think it's better than Ebisu in food quality, but the atmosphere may not be as "fun" as Ebisu's... it's rather plain and traditional and quiet.

I always sit at the bar and just ask them to make whatever is fresh and good that day. I'm often surprised by something that he just creates on the fly. Unfortunatley, I rarely am able to order it again as he doesn't necessarily remember what he made :) In any case, for those who are looking for good, relatively cheap (no, not absolutely cheap, just relative to other places), I would recommend you drop by and see if you like this place.
