Great Sea - Review/OP-ED

MisterC | Aug 25, 200401:44 PM

So, on the strength of several recommendations(both on chi.eats and the Chicago Chowhounds message board), I visited Great Sea for some tasty chicken wings.

We arrived, ordered the Kung Pao chicken, broccoli with oyster sauce, and of course, the wings.

Fast forward 20 minutes...

The good:
- tasty, tasty wings
- good heat on the kung pao

The bad:
- observing an environment whose standards of sanitation were below my own.

To the owner/hostess's credit, she immediately came over to our table, comped our meal, and attempted to explain the current condition. She was very gracious, and I can appreciate her position, but still... ugh.

I'll give up the chicken wings to find a lesser, but more sanitary, dining establishment.

If anyone can recommend another restaurant in the Chicago area(within the city limits, preferably) that has comparable wings(and cham pong), please let me know. thankyouverymuch.
