next month we'll be spending four nights at the shiodome hotel in tokyo. We live in nyc, have been to many of the fabulous restaurants there but at this point of our lives, prefer a relaxed casual meal, built around very good cooking and a welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, although I consulted for a japanese bank for a number of years (or maybe because I have), I have a strong belief we're going to commit many unintentional slights and insults.
so I think this adds up to neighborhood spots with good food, tolerant waiters/chefs and preferably a lower price point. Also, we're not willing to wait more than 15 minutes (we have the same rule for NYC) but are happy to arrive when restaurants open.
I know that's an awful lot of constraints, any suggestions?
