Great Pumpkin Curry at Lemongrass

I am not sure if this was a fluke, or if I was just really in need of some good curry, but the Pumpkin and Shrimp curry (it was a special) at Lemongrass on Polk was delicious. It was listed as a red curry and had a nice balance of coconut milk and curry flavor.

It was requested "Thai Spicy" and we were asked if we were sure. It was spicy, but not so hot that I couldn't eat it (I am the more sensitive between me and H.) The flavors were fresh and they had left some of the skin on the squash (I think it was kabocha since it was green.) The squash was not mushy and had a nice toothsome quality.

We also ordered the chicken with bamboo shoots and basil which was also very good. Very fresh ingredients, each vegetable was fresh and not limp or overcooked like the “average” Thai restaurant. The bamboo shoots were a great addition to the standard “Basil Chicken.” The wait staff couldn't be nicer and they were falling all over us to make sure we had water, refills on soda etc. (It was about 9 or so, so sort of late and quiet.)

I would like to hear other's input on Lemongrass to figure out if we got lucky or if it is a neighborhood standard. I don't live in this 'hood but will surely go back to Lemongrass for their fresh and delicious food.
