Had a work dinner in Mistral's function room, our lab just moved into this dept. and went from pizza/beer to 3 courses and free wine. Hors d'oeuvres were potobello mush. or asparagus bruschetta, some skewers, shrimp tempura and the best, mini crab cakes. Started with a competent Caesar salad and had a choice of salmon, rack of lamb or beef tenderloin. I went with the lamb which was perfect. Came with acorn squash and a hash brown type of potato, altho not crispy. Had a taste of the beef tenderloin and that too was awesome. Didn't need a knife and the horseradish mashed potatos really had a horseradish flavor. A trio of desserts consisted of a little fruit tarte w/ cream, creme brulee and a chocolate pot de creme. The waiters and bartender were awesome and it moved Mistral up a couple notches after our so-so experience during restaurant week. Keep Mistral in mind when you need a private room for 30-70 people, very pleasant with a nice bar, lighting, all that.
