Great Mei Fun Noodles

Foodboy | May 20, 2004 05:31 PM

I'm looking for great mei fun noodle dishes - almost every Chinese restaurant has a version of mei fun noodles. Shrimp, chicken, pork...the usual choices. I used to get a dish called "Ha Moon Mei Fun" at a place in Jackson Heights (the place has since gone way downhill) that was light, fresh tasting and had peppers, bean sprouts, egg + shrimp or chicken, etc., and the whole dish was just exceptional.

I can't seem to find a comparable mei fun dish anywhere in Manhattan. I've tried every neighborhood place near my apartment (E. 60s) and they all taste the same: Heavy, over seasoned, too salty, too brown-looking, wierd flavors (curry is out).

Can anyone help me? "Ha Moon Mei Fun...where are you?"
