great meal at upi jaya (indonesian) in woodside today

this place has come up on the radar before as showing promise, and indeed my second meal there (today) was very good.

i had the beef rendang from the combinations page (i think it was the first item on the menu) and tofu isi as an appetizer. the beef rendang (which is a chunk of overcooked beef in a spicy sauce) was complex and perfectly spiced. the tofu isi (which is breaded fried tofu stuffed with vegetables) was really good as well and served as a palette cleanser from the heavy spice in the beef rendang.

also, they are really nice in there & kid-friendly. they seemed to be getting good business (i was there at 1:30 on a sunday and there were three or four families in the place).
