After lurking on this board for some time, and soaking up all of the wise advise of the board veterans, I finally made it to Babbo last week. As others who have recently posted about Babbo, we loved it. There were two of us and we ordered a lot of food because we wanted to taste as much as possible. We had the following:
mozzarella and tomatoes -- a special -- with super fresh buffalo mozzarella
grilled octopus -- one of the best dishes of the night
Oxtail gnocchi -- Very good. Not too rich at all.
The special ravioli -- Very rich and creamy, made with some type of goat cheese and ramps
Ribeye (we had to after reading so much about it) -- It completely lived up to the hype. It was huge, juicy, and super flavorful
We were so full, we could not have dessert.
We really liked the small space on the first floor and the service was great.
Next time, maybe the pasta tasting menu.
Is it true that you can order pastas from the tasting menu even if you don't order the tasting menu?
