great lunch at Saigon Seafood Harbor

Just got back from Peru where I was severely disappointed that we didn't have time to visit the local Chinatown in Lima or eat at one of the many (6000) Chifa restaurants. So, as soon as we got home we headed right over to Saigon Seafood Harbor Restaurant for lunch. It's been awhile since I've visited here but I have been reading generally good reviews. Although I had some very good food on our trip it was great to walk into this lively dining scene. Overflowing fish tanks, BBQ meats hanging in the window of the kitchen, etc.....engaging visuals. And the food lived up to its billing. Enjoyed a small sampling of dim sum.....the shrimp rice noodle roll was tender with large whole shrimp inside, the steamed beef balls with bean curd skin & worcestershire were tender and savory ( I like a bit of orange peel ), the fried taro with meat filling was exemplary - and finally the gai-lon was cooked perfectly. Added an order of Hainan Chicken Rice - a very nice version - served with addictive fried peanuts, scallion/ginger relish and chilli/vinegar dip. The chicken was nicely cooked: pink near the bone. The chicken had a bit of chew to its texture (free range?) ...... the rice was delicious: rich from chicken fat and full of flavor. The soup component included some greens and chunks of chicken - a rich, flavorful result. .....left feeling very pleased. The service was very good.
Cost about $23 including tax. Small dishes of dim sum - $2.00, medium $2.50, large - $3.50. Hainan Chicken Rice - $6.75 lunch special
