The food tasted as if the kitchen staff was just "going through the motions". Nothing was bad, but nothing was really great, especially for the price paid.
Rack of lamb was unevenly cooked with a bland sauce. My partner's pan seared sea bass was well cooked but, once again, the sauce was uninspired. Highlights of the meal were the grilled portabella mushroom with local cheese and a nicely dressed salad. The dessert was inventive; a sweet cheese stuffed pepper with a refreshing mescal ice cream.
Service was excellent and the atmosphere was romantic. Still . . . we're looking for GREAT.
