Great Experience at Salt Exchange

nyawira | Oct 1, 2011 04:17 AM

I've been reading mixed reviews on this board about the Salt Exchange and I just wanted to throw in our opinion. We had an amazing experience last night there. The food and service was exceptional. We sat at the bar place where you can watch the food being prepared. My husband and I shared the mussels and pork belly small plates. So incredibly yummy. The broth for the mussels was really fragrant and flavorful and the mussels were plump and perfectly cooked. A nice big serving too. The pork belly was the best I've ever had and served with a nice sauce and mashed potatos. Very small serving though. We contemplated ordering another, but at that moment the star dish of the evening arrived. Thatt would be the lobster dish. It was in some kind of a creamy type sauce. I really wanted to lick my plate! The lobster was perfectly cooked and the serving was generous. My husband got the short ribs and it almost melted in the mouth. With this meal, we had to order desert, so we did. We had the donut dish which was good, but I thought the donuts could have been less dense. But I have to say with their really generous pours of the two bourbons, at that point I was just happy to be there.

This restaurant is now at the top of our list for Valentines day. I did learn that the restaurant has a new Chef since just a few months ago. He came out and asked us how our meal was which was nice of him.
