Great Experience at Nonya in Pasadena

Spankaccount | Aug 23, 200403:13 AM

Against the recommendation of a friend who is more of a food snob then I, i took a date to Nonya this evening.

I wish I had payed more attention to the service which was fine as I think back, the food was so good that I'm now looking for things to critique.

We stared with the Scallion pancakes and lamb starter which was wonderful! I have not had lamb that melted in my mouth like that in a while and the pancakes themselves were to die for... Nice presentation too.

I also loved the twice cooked pork. I was thinking of good southern BBQ while I was eating this, but with a strong asian influence.

We also both loved the green beans which were cooked in what they called a chili bean paste if I remember correctly.

My date noted the jasmine rice.
