I'm traveling to Carpinteria for only 2.5 days in mid-May. I'll be sans vehicle, but staying in a hotel right on the edge of town, and I'm not adverse to walking (or is the town so small that I don't even need to worry about this?). Since I've got a limited amount of time to enjoy meals there, I'd love some recommendations from people who live or have been there. I'm partial to fresh, cheap, regional foods over fancy stuff.
Thanks for any suggestions!
