A _Great_ donut in Norwood

Jeremy Osner | Apr 11, 1999 03:02 PM

This morning we went to the New York Botanical Gardens
in the Bronx; we got there a little early so we drove
around looking for a cup of coffee. On Bainbridge Ave.
and 205th Street we found Bainbridge Bakery, a nice
enough little spot with non-English-speaking employees.
Their donuts looked good; I asked for a Boston Kreme
and was greeted with a blank look; but after I changed
my request to a "donut with custard inside and
chocolate on top", I got a perfect Boston Kreme. It had
that perfectly-fried donut quality where just the
outside skin is just a little dry and _almost_ crispy.
