OK, this place is a little difficult to find, but well worth the inconvenience and the scenery is very pretty this time of year.
Humphrey Station is located at 23117 Tollhouse Road, on the way up to the Shaver/Huntington Lake areas. We decided to stop by for lunch after church last Sun.
We were seated out back by the pretty creek, complete with a paddlewheel. The back area is very roomy, with lots of tables and grass area. (Great for large groups.) I was craving some good old-fashioned comfort food and decided on the French Dip sandwich with Au Jus and curly fries. Lemonade was served in a small carafe and very fresh-squeezed.
Only Harris Ranch beef is served at this place and the sandwich was delicious. Lots of meat and the bakery roll tasted like it was freshly made that morning. Curly fries were very good and lots of them!!
For desserts, they serve mainly fresh baked cobblers and pies which I passed on since I knew I HAD to eat again in a few hours at our church Tri-Tip BBQ. DH was making his "died and went to heaven" chocolate ribbon creme pie.
Breakfast, dinner and lunch are served here and we will be back. A little gem in the foothills for some good old-fashioned chow!!! ***kim***
